William & Mary oak yew country chest
The style is of the William & Mary period. It is in oak and bur oak, the kind of a country made piece of c.1690.
The drawers are dovetailed, and the linings in old oak. The back, bottom and the interior is all in old oak also.
It stands on the typical turned ball feet of the period, with a thumb moulding around the top and the base.
The drawers are fitted with brass Dutch drop handles.
It is French polished and distressed, and waxed to an antique finish.
It measures approx: 9 3/4" x 8 1/2" x 6 1/4".
