Georgian caddy top chest reproduction apprentice piece furniture
Georgian caddy top chest. The top inlaid around the edge with decorative banding of boxwood and ebony. The drawers also decorated around the edge with ebony stringing.
The chest stands on shaped apron to the front and sides and flat "French" feet. The drawers are oak and dovetailed, fitted with brass Dutch drop handles. The worked fine double-reed beading, inset into the cabinet, is typical of the later Georgian period.
French polished by hand in a mellow red mahogany colour, it is distressed antique finish.
It measures 8 1/2" wide x 9 1/4" high x 6 1/2" deep.
